Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a couple things that will save you some trouble and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Delray Beach and the last thing you want is to discover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
- Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at top efficiency. Spring is the best time to arrange your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 561-287-7071.
